Acheulean culture - Homo Erectus Heidelbergensis - Between 650 000 to 350 000 B.C.

Tool:  Acheulean Handaxe / cleaver (hachereau) , knapped by our ancestor Homo Heidelbergensis. The cleaver is one of the oldest tool of Humanity. Marks of use on the active sharp part (the front). Probably also used occasionally as side scraper (marks of use on one side)

This very nice piece is from an ancient family collection. It has been found in the 1960's and before.
