About this log storage bed:
This QUEEN SIZE log storage bed is amish hand crafted of solid pine. The six drawers are very heavy duty and on full extension ball bearing glides for years of hassle free and quiet use. These beds are the perfect fit for those rooms where you need to conserve space. No need for a dresser with the six drawers attached to the bed... and no need for a box springs with the sturdy platform base on the bed.
There is some assembly required to assemble these beds. Comes in several sections ( headboard, foot board, and drawer sections are assembled) which makes it easier to get the bed inside and set up ...The drawer sections are pre-assembled and heavy, so you might want to have help on hand to get it put together then. Mattress is not included.
We choose to work with lodgepole pine as it grows naturally in the forests of NW montana and is known for its superior strength to weight ratio. It is also straighter, thus making it easier to work the raw wood into the highest quality furniture possible. Our lodge pole pine is harvested in the Kootenai National Forest via a very selective process. Skilled woodsmen select each tree with an attentive eye toward the quality, straightness and size of each specimen. After felling, each piece is hand carried to the road to ensure both the tree and the environment remain unharmed. Then each log is hand peeled, using the skip-peel method where some of the inner bark is left on the logs, creating a beautiful rustic piece of furniture for your home, lodge or cabin.
There is often some checking in the logs which is a natural occurrence with lodge pole pine, but it does not affect the strength and durability of the bed. It actually adds character to them. Upkeep on our rustic log furniture is simple. Just sand out any nicks or scratches and reapply finish... or leave as is for additional character and rustic appeal.
