I AM NOT SELLING A KIT, only a new, full-size copy of my original PLAN & construction article for a 1/2A RC model of the Flyline CURTISS ROBIN.
In 1975 Hurst Bowers published a model of a rugged 41" span, 1/2A powered RC scale model of the CURTISS ROBIN which later on was produced as a Flyline Models kit.
Here is a nice full-size copy of the PLAN and construction article that covers every detail. All necessary patterns are on the plan. This is a very stable flying model for gas or electric power & 1 to 3 channel RC.
The CURTISS ROBIN, with a radial engine, was used by Douglas Corrigan in his famous (infamous?) flight to Ireland in 1938. The CAA had condemned his raggedy plane and gave him a one-trip-only permit to fly it back to California. He took off in the morning in New Jersey and landed the next day in Ireland. He said his compass must have been stuck and he thought he was flying west when he was actually flying east! After a wild reception in Ireland, a homecoming ticker-tape parade down Fifth Avenue in New York and a Hollywood movie in which he played himself, he wrote the autobiography "That's My Story" (and I'm sticking to it). Forever he was known as "Wrong-Way" Corrigan.
I have a large packet of original documents for the CURTISS ROBIN model airplane and full-size airplane. As a BONUS I include excellent scale documentation so you can add as many scale details as you may want. I also include a copy of Popular Aviation’s 1938 article featuring Douglas Corrigan. You’ll not find a more thorough offering.
(My last 4 pictures are of other CURTISS ROBIN model PLANS that I sell separately.)
YOU ARE PURCHASING A NICE, WHITE, FULL-SIZE COPY OF THE ORIGINAL MAGAZINE PLAN, CONSTRUCTION ARTICLE, + BONUS DOCUMENTATION FOLDED AND IN A MANILA ENVELOPE.
