1825 - Lesage & Laujon engraving

engraving antique from 1825, rare, taken from a work on the great figures of France, its history, its arts. This print is divided into two parts, to treat two characters, in this case two French men of letters:

The wise. Alain-René Lesage or Le Sage, born in Sarzeau on May 8, 1668 and died in Boulogne-sur-Mer on November 17, 1747, is a French novelist and playwright best known as the author of the picaresque novel Histoire de Gil Blas de Santillane.
Laujon. Pierre Laujon, born January 13, 1727 in Paris where he died July 13, 1811, is a French gossip, poet, songwriter and playwright. In 1807, at the age of eighty, he was elected a member of the French Academy in the French language and literature class of the Imperial Institute.
