engraving antique from 1825, rare, taken from a work on the great figures of France, its history, its arts. This print is divided into two parts, to treat two characters, in this case two French men of letters:
- The wise. Alain-René Lesage or Le Sage, born in Sarzeau on May 8, 1668 and died in Boulogne-sur-Mer on November 17, 1747, is a French novelist and playwright best known as the author of the picaresque novel Histoire de Gil Blas de Santillane.
- Laujon. Pierre Laujon, born January 13, 1727 in Paris where he died July 13, 1811, is a French gossip, poet, songwriter and playwright. In 1807, at the age of eighty, he was elected a member of the French Academy in the French language and literature class of the Imperial Institute.
