Gorgeous antique Victorian era (~ 1860's for this piece) card case,

w/ mother-of-pearl and sterling silver inlaid, to form the flower/leaves pattern.

Just beautiful !

Made of a natural material (tortxxse shell, which I cannot say it explicitly, eBay policy does not allow to say it here, or the listing will be removed).  It was made about 160 years ago in 1860's, at least 100 years before any international animal treaty was introduced !!

Different silver and mother-of-pearl inlaid patterns on two sides.
All hand-made.

Used by wealthy ladies in those days.

Very nice operational condition. No major problems, but does have some cracks over the body (very tight) and one corner is rubbed (see 3rd last picture). The cracks are all very tight and nothing moves.  The hinge works.  No inlaid pieces missing.

The inlaid leaves seem to be made of sterling silver, which appear tarnished (after 160 years !) and look dark (see last 5 pictures).

Measurements:
~ 3 3/4 x 2 5/8 "

Don't miss the opportunity to add it to your collection !
