DAN DADAN (English: DAN DADAN) is a Japanese manga by Yukinobu Ryu. It is an occult fighting manga in which a high school girl who believes in the existence of ghosts and an otaku boy who believes in the existence of UFOs fight against strange phenomena. It's in the Shonen Jump+ (Shueisha) series from 6 April 2021. The latest episode has received more than 1 million views each time, making it the signature episode of the service after SPY x FAMILY and Kaiju No. 8. The total circulation of the series including e-books exceeded 3.2 million copies as of December 2023.

The first volume of comics was released on August 4, 2021. On the same day, videos such as ""Until Dundadan is Made"", in which author Ryu tells his secret birth story, were released on the official YouTube channel Jump Channel. In December of the same year, a collaboration with Tower Records was organised to celebrate the release of the third volume.

On November 28, 2023, a TV animation adaptation was announced.

Synopsis.

Momo Ayase, a high school student whose grandmother is a psychic, doesn't believe in aliens but does believe in ghosts. Ken Takakura, a high school boy who is an occult fanatic, doesn't believe in ghosts but does believe in aliens. One day, Momo dumps the first boyfriend of her life, who resembles actor Ken Takakura, and he protects Ken from bullies when he accidentally sees him. Ken thinks of Momo as a kindred spirit when he talks to him, but the two, who have opposing views on the occult, fall out and end up playing a game of 'if you can prove the occult'.
