In 1944, Indiana Jones and Basil Shaw (Toby Jones) cross paths with Jürgen Voller (Mads Mikkelsen), a Nazi scientist seeking both halves of the Archimedes Dial which, if whole, gives its wielder power over space and time. 25 years later, Jones is being forced into retirement, while Voller is working for NASA under an assumed name.

Voller's dream to unite the two halves of the Dial and reintroduce Nazism to the world endures, and only Jones and his goddaughter, Helena (Phoebe Waller-Bridge), stand in Voller's way.
