  • The Vapor Suit is a new SFI-5 rated suit from Alpinestars. It uses a much lighter and thinner 3-layer construction to cut down on added bulk. This suit weighs over a 1lb less than the Knoxville suit.

    The Vapor Suit has a new, soft, aramidic outer shell and its three-layer construction is made from a strong fire-resistant cotton twill and feltro padding for optimum levels of driver protection. This suit is also equipped with stretch panels on the crotch, waist, and underarms for improved range of motion, enhanced fit and comfort while driving. A twill, fire-resistant cotton outer shell and lining offer maximum driver comfort. Other key design features include a 3/4 stretchable arm construction, pre-curved arms, and legs, stretch panels on the crotch, waist and shoulders for driver comfort and an optimized fit, and a boot cut leg with inner knitted elasticated cuff for maximum protection.• Anatomically engineered, pre-curved arms and legs provide an enhanced fit and an optimum position while driving.

  • An additional consideration should be the position the garment will be worn in. Specifically, the clamshell orientation of the driving position requires additional material in order to prevent tugging the wearer. This is especially important when wearing a one piece suit. To account for this when selecting a suit: ensure you are on the lower end of the range for a particular size so there will be enough material to prevent the suit from tugging when seated.
