Paxton/Patterson Catalog (c.1967)
Out-of-print, hard-to-find softcover book with over 700 pages from Paxton Patterson, a division of the Paxton National Inc.   Paxton Equipment and Supply, Chicago, Illinois and Paterson Brothers, Clifton, New Jersey. Catalog is undated but reference in the literature is made to the mid to late 1960's consistent with the catalog number 67 which implies 1967.

Asbestos references include, but are not limited to, the following :

Modular Wall Benches had the option of a Transite, galvanized or Formica top.
Wood abd Standard Soldering Benches - top consists of 1/4" transite bonded to plywood/heavy gauge steel.
Marquette School & Shop Welding Bench - made with asbestos board
Type HPD Heater Cord - asbestos covered
Type AF Fixture Wire - asbestos insulation
Welding Curtains were available in 7 materials: Asbestos cloth, wire-inserted asbestos and Johns Manville aluminized asbestos were three of them. All of them Underwriters' grade!
Asbestos clothing : gloves, leggings, sleeves and aprons usually for welding and foundry work (molders).
Laboratory ovens (6 models) - featured asbestos aircel insulation
Asbestos soldering ring stick and coil soldering block

Also offered for sale were brake grinding equipment for grinding brake shoes of automobiles. Since the friction material of brake shoes was commonly an asbestos composition during this time frame it is likely that the use of these types of brake grinders in shop classes could have exposed both students and faculty to asbestos dust.

Book Condition:

The book is in GOOD condition!!  The book has normal wear from use.  Binding is intact & square with no missing pages. The pages have lite browning due to age.   It's a used book with plenty of life left in it!!
