This note is a share in the notorious Ponzi scheme from the early 90's and beyond. There are 16 types issued in 3 releases, the third one being the most rare. The printing is fairly sophisticated with silk thread and watermarking. There are many varieties including serials, overprints and cancellation types. Sergei Mavrodi who is pictured on the note would eventually go to jail, not for the scheme, but for tax evasion. Upon release he did it all again, though that scheme was never as successful. He is no longer with us. Fascinating history if not an outright RIP.
