Our panels are made without the use of paints! The role of colors in marquetry is played by the texture and shade of the wood, so the most important task is to determine the composition and the artist's artistic ability to select and combine the right pieces of veneer.
Marquetry is an artistic set of thin wooden plates (veneer) of various colors and textures. Pieces of wood, docking at the edges with each other, form a complete picture, which is subsequently glued to the base. There are hundreds of different types of veneer in the marketer's shop, from black to almost white, and the same wood in different areas can have different shades.
The high
cost of the finished product is primarily due to the labor-intensive
manufacturing process, requiring up to 90% manual labor. The process of
performing the work is quite complicated and includes many related operations.
At the same time, assembling the mosaic set itself is only no more than a third
of the entire process. The rest is the preparation of the image, the completion
and correction of the set, gluing, sanding, finishing with oils and varnish,
and so on. Many stages are repeated many times to achieve a better result. Only
oil finishing followed by a primer and a final shellac finish can take up to 7 days.
