ISCO Braun Tele-Ultralit SLK 135mm f/3.5 Lens
A German-made ISCO Tele-Ultralit SLK 135mm f/3.5 manual-focus telephoto lens for the Braun Paxette Super III Automatic camera only.
The lens is fitted with the relatively uncommon Braun Paxette Prontor-SLK bayonet mount. It is not compatible with the more usual M39 screw-mount Braun Paxette cameras.
Optical Condition
The glass has no visible scratches, cleaning marks or fungus. There is, however, a relatively significant degree of internal haze.
The haze is likely to reduce contrast and may affect image quality. The lens is therefore best regarded as requiring internal cleaning before serious photographic use.
Mechanical Condition
The focusing ring operates smoothly throughout its range.
The aperture ring also operates smoothly, the diaphragm responds correctly and the aperture blades appear free from oil.
The front filter thread does not appear to be damaged.
Cosmetic Condition
The lens shows general cosmetic wear appropriate to its age, including minor marks to the black and chrome finishes.
The original-style leather storage case is included. It shows substantial surface wear, scuffing and age-related deterioration but remains useful for storage.
The lens hood shown in the photographs is also included.
Mount and Compatibility
This lens was made specifically for the Braun Paxette Super III Automatic using the Prontor-SLK bayonet mount.
Although some contemporary King Regula and Photavit cameras used superficially similar Prontor mounts, differences in aperture operation and rangefinder coupling mean that compatibility should not be assumed.
Buyers should compare the mount shown in the photographs carefully with their camera before purchasing.
Applications & Collectibility
An uncommon vintage German telephoto lens of interest to collectors and restorers of Braun Paxette cameras, ISCO optics, Prontor-SLK equipment, rangefinder camera lenses and unusual interchangeable bayonet mounts.
