Rare antique Victorian era sawing kit case made in the 1870th-1890 by the famous Joseph Rodgers & Sons in Sheffield, England (pre-1890 logo). These Victorian traveling sawing sets were very popular in the 19th century as practically all personal attire repairs were done on the spot by hand; usually by women.

This case is clearly an up-scale version of such traveling kit: the case has black leather-bound exterior and the "royal velvet" soft interior with brass locking clasp and hinges. Joseph Rodgers & Sons famous ✱ ✢ trademark (star and the Maltese cross) was first used as early as 1682. This clamshell case is about 6-3/4” / 17.2 cm long by 3-1/2” / 9 cm wide. The lid is marked with the early logo that reads" “JOSEPH RODGERS & SONS / 8 NORFOLK SHEFFIELD / CUTLERS TO HER MAJESTY / CORPORATE MARK. The overall quality is excellent. The case is in great condition overall with no damage. Sawing tools are not included; this sale is for the case only.

Unless specified otherwise, returns are accepted within 30 days of the purchase. Buyers must notify us prior to return. Original S&H fees are non-refundable, unless we did not describe the item correctly.
