Biography of Satoshi Kon:
He was born in Hokkaido, Japan on October 12, 1963.
After graduating from Musashino Art University, Department of Visual Communication Design,
he worked as a manga artist and animation director.
In 1985, while he was in college, he won the Chiba Tetsuya Award and made his debut as a manga artist.
As a manga work, "Kaikisen", "World Apartment Horror", short story "Dream Fossil" (both Kodansha), "OPUS" first and second volumes, "Seraphim 266,613,336 wings" bookstore).
Since 1990, he has also been active in the world of animation, mainly in theatrical productions, as art settings and layouts.
In 1998, he made his directorial debut with the film "Perfect Blue#.
After that, he released "Millennium Actress" in 2002,
"Tokyo Godfathers" in 2003, and "Paprika" in 2006, and won film awards around the world. In 2004,
he produced the TV animation "Delusion Agent", and in 2007 he produced the short animation "Ohayou".
He passed away on August 24, 2010.
He was 46 years old.
