Harley Francis (1940-2017) was an American mail artist, painter, set designer, and artistamp creator. He established Terra Candella, an independent state as opposed to a local post office about 1987. That same time, he also curated the first artistamp exhibition at the Allen Memorial Art Museum (his alma mater, Oberlin College). This stamp is one of many he created, one of only a few in circulation. Many of his works, especially his stamps, are curated at various museums.

This piece is an abstract stamp that measures 2 1/2 inches tall and 1 3/4 inches wide from white border to white border. The other stamps are artistic creations as well that Harley created at Terra Candella. The color is fairly accurate in the photos, but there's always a shade of difference between reality and technology.

This stamp belongs to a friend of Harley's. It's stored in a non-smoking environment.
