Villeroy & Boch ALT STRASSBURG Gravy Sauce Boat, GREAT Condition, 1913-47 NICE!
I'm currently going through a LARGE set of vintage ceramic dinnerware by Villeroy & Boch, with many pieces that are quite vintage, as well as some newer pieces that were added by the collector. I am listing pieces separately AND in lots, depending on the piece(s).
THIS listing is for a Gravy Boat from this classic pattern. The mark dates this piece to the period between 1913-1947. This is one of the pieces that is more difficult to find of this age and condition.
It measures 8.5" long, 5.25" wide, and 3.625" tall. Cream colored background with the multi-colored floral design as shown, and deep forest green trim at the edge.
I have discovered while researching this dinnerware that the name of the pattern is Alt Strassburg, but during its long history it was sold under a couple of different spellings of the name - Strassburg and Strasburg. To make it more confusing, another company named "Luneville" produced a pattern called "Alt Strasbourg", with a very similar if not identical pattern design. So double check your marks, if you're trying to match some existing dinnerare. :)
No chips, cracks, staining or visible crazing. Marked on the bottom with the mark used from 1913-1947 as shown. Thanks for looking!
