This listing is for the 2023 Proof Finish Toonie  produced by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2023. This $2 Toonie coin is minted in proof finish.  The outer ring is three ply nickel finish plated steel while the inner core is 3 ply brass plated aluminum bronze.  This coin is taken from the 2023 special edition proof silver dollar set. This coin has the traditional polar bear logo and the date 2023 AND the transition obverse date (1952 - 2022) on the obverse.  Note that the four dots in a diamond shape set between the dates indicates the four effigies of QEII used on our coins in her 70 year reign.  It is 28 mm in diameter and weighs 6.99 grams (the gold plated silver toonie from the fine silver proof set weighs 9 grams) Mintage of the set is only 12,500!!
