Highland Park: This 1910 photograph shows the old boathouse and Lake Carnegie in its glory days. Philanthropist Andrew Carnegie partially financed the creation of the lake as a halfway station for water being pumped out of the Allegheny River. In 1932 the lake was cut in half to make room for the park's swimming pool.
