This helicopter view reveals the Midfield Terminal's revolutionary X-shape architecture of the Airside Complex with 80-jet gates, which makes it easy for the 65% of PIT passengers who are transfers to change planes without leaving their arrival floor or the building. One-half mile west, is the 4-story Landside Building, with adjacent 3-level parking for 3,200 cars. Underground tunnels connect the two $800-million complexes with remote controlled "people mover vehicles" transporting passengers, sightseers and shoppers between them.
