This beautiful hand painted porcelain plaque mounted in a bronze enamel and bronze tray.  Beautifully hand painted religious scene showing a young Bernadette seeing a beautiful lady "the Immaculate Conception" at the grotto in Lordes France. The Virgin Mary appeared to Bernadette Soubirous 18 times in 1858. The site became a famous Catholic pilgrimage destination known as the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. The tray measures approximately 15 1/4" from handle to handle by 10 1/2" at its widest point and 1 3/4" at its highest point.  The viewing area of the porcelain plaque is approximately 8 1/8" long by 5 5/8" wide.  The family I purchased this from had it hanging on their wall.  They said when they purchased it, it was missing one of the legs so they had a professional create another leg so the tray could be used as it was designed. It has a tiny bit of enamel missing at the bottom edge.  In my very last picture, I point out the two spots of missing enamel.
