Beautiful Edel Porzellan Crown Mark Tea or Coffee Set from Germany includes tea pot and lid, sugar bowl and lid, creamer, 4 cups, and four saucers. This set was purchased at an antiques auction house many years ago and not used since. It is in overall very good condition with no chips, cracks, or notable loss of paint or gilding. Each of the cups, the creamer, sugar bowl, and teapot have a scalloped, slightly footed gold gilt pedestal base and an embossed design in the finish around the rim/top of each item. The saucers have a scalloped and embossed rim. All pieces have the colonial couple design and gold gilt fleurishes. Each piece has the Edel Porzellan Crown mark on bottom (excepting the lids, of course). The cups stand about 2 inches high; the creamer stands 3 1/3 inches high; the sugar bowl stands 5 inches high to top of handle on lid; the teapot stands almost 7 1/2 inches high to top of handle on lid. I think these date to the 1940's.
