THE FRENCH STYLE IS RIBBED ACROSS THE CABLE IN A SPIRAL PATTERN
THE ITALIAN STYLE IS RIBBED ALONG THE CABLE AND ACROSS GIVING A MESH PATTERN
The French type is a reproduction product of the outer cable used by Rene Else and Alex Singer in France from
around 1950 to 1970. The feature is that the shape of the round wire (coil) is raised on the surface of the outer cable,
and it has a bumpy pattern like an undulation.
The Italian type is a reproduction product of the outer cable produced by Universal, which was mainly used in Italy in
the 1950s. The feature is that the surface of the outer cable has a mesh pattern.
All have a polyethylene inner liner. Can be used for hub gears and non-indexed derailleurs too!

What is more it is beautifully flexible for really smooth cable runs.
As used on Moultons and other quality bikes back in the 60s, 70's, 80's.
Sold per metre in a single length with 4 ferrules. i.e. if you order 2 metres you will get one 2 metre length with 8
ferrules.
