MG ZT 260 V8 & Rover 75 V8 Engine Undertray fitting kit
This kit is for MG ZT 260 V8 & Rover 75 V8 rear wheel drive models only.
The original MG Rover electronic parts catalogue (EPC) does not correctly identify the fixings for the MG ZT 260 engine undertray, this amongst many incorrectly listed or omitted parts. However, they have now been correctly identified are available as a complete kit consisting of the following parts:
6 Quarter turn access screw (as KZM000050)
6 Clip on screw receptacle (as KZM000040)
4 Stainless steel spacer washer (as WJ110007 not identified on EPC)
2 Nylon screw retaining washer (as KZM100030)
4 Rear SEMS bolt with washer (as BYP100280 not identified on EPC)
The four spacer washers for the screws securing the undertray to the bumper valance are critical for the quarter turn action to function correctly, without them the screws are very loose and they can drop out with vibration. MG Rover fitted these spacer washers to all MG ZT models and Rover models fitted with the Premium Bumper because the extension valance is made from a much thinner material than the original bumper. The washers are often missing as they are not identified anywhere on the EPC and therefore can be lost over a period of time, the original mild steel washers have been replaced with superior stainless steel washers in this kit.
The factory fitted two nylon washers to the two quarter turn screws fitted through the undertray, their function is to retain the screw in a loose condition as part of the undertray when removed for servicing. This eases assembly but also stops the screw disappearing should it become undone.
The outermost holes in all 260 undertrays are unused, this was a feature for early front wheel drive models (with VIN change points), correct assembly is for the scrivet holding the wheel arch liner to the subframe to be fitted underneath the undertray, this hole is therefore redundant.
The right hand part of the undertray has a hole for one small SEMS screw to pass through and attach to the right hand bumper corner finisher, this screw was rarely fitted by the factory and is omitted in this kit as it will become part of a planned bumper screw kit in the future
