1.2-34V 5A DC-DC Step-Down CC/CV Buck Converter with Volt, Amp & Power Meter -- XL4015 Battery Charger & LED Driver with USB Output
More than just a voltage regulator -- this XL4015 5A CC/CV Step-Down Buck Converter is a complete adjustable power module with Constant Voltage and Constant Current control, a built-in LED display showing real-time voltage, current, and power, and both screw terminal and USB outputs. Whether you're charging batteries, driving high-power LEDs, building a bench power supply, or regulating solar panel output, this module does it all -- and shows you exactly what it's doing on the display.
⚠️ Important: Always set the output voltage and current BEFORE connecting your load. Use the two onboard potentiometers to adjust CV (voltage) and CC (current limit). Verify settings on the built-in display or with a multimeter before connecting batteries, LEDs, or other devices.
🔧 How It Works
This module has two control modes that work together automatically:
- Constant Voltage (CV) mode: Maintains your set output voltage regardless of load -- like a standard power supply.
- Constant Current (CC) mode: When the load tries to draw more current than your set limit, the module automatically reduces voltage to maintain a steady current -- essential for safely charging batteries and driving LEDs.
Setup in 5 steps:
- Connect input power: Wire your 8V–36V DC supply to the IN+ and IN− screw terminals. Observe polarity.
- Set output voltage: Turn the CV-ADJ potentiometer while watching the display until you reach your desired voltage.
- Set current limit: Temporarily short the output terminals, then turn the CC-ADJ potentiometer to set your desired current limit. Remove the short.
- Connect your load: Wire your battery, LED, or circuit to the OUT+ / OUT− screw terminals, or plug a USB device into the USB port (when set to 5V).
- Monitor: Press the display button to cycle through input voltage, output voltage, output current, and output power readings.
⚡ Key Features
- Dual CC/CV Control: Two onboard multi-turn potentiometers let you independently set output voltage (1.2V–34V) and current limit (0–5A). The module automatically switches between modes based on load demand.
- Built-in LED Meter: No external multimeter needed. The onboard display shows input voltage, output voltage, output current, and output power -- cycle through modes with a push button.
- Dual Output Connections: Screw terminals for general wiring plus a USB Type-A port for charging phones, powering Raspberry Pi, or any USB device.
- High Efficiency: Up to 96% conversion efficiency at 180 KHz switching frequency -- far less heat than linear regulators.
- Wide Voltage Range: Accepts 8V–36V input and outputs 1.2V–34V, covering virtually any DC step-down application.
- Comprehensive Protection: Over-temperature, over-current, short-circuit, and reverse polarity (input) protection built in.
- Multi-Turn Potentiometers: Fine, precise adjustment of voltage and current -- no jumpy single-turn pots.

⚠️ Important Notes
- Always set voltage and current BEFORE connecting your load. This is the single most important rule for safe operation.
- Input must be at least 1.5V higher than output. If the dropout margin is too small, the module cannot regulate properly.
- Do not exceed 36V input. Exceeding maximum input voltage will permanently damage the XL4015 IC.
- Maximum continuous current is 4A. 5A is peak only -- sustained operation above 4A requires active cooling (heatsink + fan).
- No automatic charge termination. This module does NOT auto-cutoff when a battery is full. Monitor lithium battery charging and disconnect when current tapers to near zero.
- USB port outputs whatever voltage is set on the module -- it is NOT automatically 5V. Always verify output voltage before connecting USB devices.
- The potentiometers are multi-turn. You may need 10–20 full rotations to move through the full range. Turn slowly and watch the display.
- Add a fuse on the input side for permanent installations (7A fast-blow recommended).
