Vintage Jaquet Droz Aquaproof Divers watch - 5ATM Swiss 17J manual AS ST 1950/51

The case and back has some small scratches and marks in relation to age and use. There is also some minor wear to the chrome plate but overall is in good condition. Please see photos and read full description for full details. Although it is a 5 ATM Divers model, the water resistance is not guaranteed due to the age of the watch.

Functions: Hours, minutes, seconds, date.

Movement: Swiss manual AS ST 1950/51 Incabloc movement 17 jewels. Signed 'SWISS' and 'SEVENTEEN 17 JEWELS'.

Case: 36mm not including the crown. Chrome plated case with a few minor scratches and marks relevant to age and some minor wear to the chrome plate, see photos.

Bezel: Rotating bezel in black with silver markings, arrow marking at 12 and minute markings at 10, 20, 40 and 50. The bezel rotates in both directions but is quite stiff.

Dial: Original dark metallic blue Jaquet Droz dial in good condition, see photos. Signed with the 'JAQUET DROZ' 'arrow' logo and 'AQUAPROOF', '50 METRES', 'INCABLOC'' and 'SWISS MADE' at the 6 o'clock position.  Date window at the 3 o’clock position. Raised baton markers at each hour. Silver hour and minute hands with a square 'lollipop' second hand. 

Case back: Stainless steel screw-down case back signed with 'GUARANTEED 20 ATM TESTED'. Signed around the logo with: ‘WATERPROOF, TESTED 5ATM, STAINLESS STEEL BACK' and with the serial number '51.347'. Please note that it is also signed with the name of a previous owner, please see photos. The inside of the case back has a note explaining that the case back threads had previously been damaged. However, I removed and replaced without any problem, but care should be taken.

Dimensions: 37.7mm including the winding crown, 36mm width excluding the crown, 41.2mm length including lugs. Case thickness with crystal 10.6mm.

Crystal: Original acrylic crystal in good condition with some minor scratches.

Crown: Original crown.

Lug width: 19mm.

Buckle: 16mm

Strap: Quality 'Geckota' Italian hand made 20mm thick dark brown leather strap with cream stitching, with a 16mm stainless steel buckle.
