Baxter Systems provided the best to locksmiths for 70 years. Get the most accurate guide keys cut on dedicated code machines. Keys are numbered, and there is always a #1 key, which could be used to make a key if you run out of keyblanks!

How do guide keys work? Each guide key set has one key for each depth. So, if you want to cut a Kwikset key with a combination of 35532, you’d use the 2, 3 and 5 keys. You might have to use a file to make sure the deeper cuts don’t have too much of an angle between cuts, so the key doesn’t get stuck in the lock.

Dennis Baxter retired in December, 2017. We purchased all of the Baxter Systems books, tryouts, and guide keys. Once these items are sold, no more will be available again. 

Each precision Baxter guide key set comes with a tag identifying the set, and showing what code series are used (if applicable). It also shows if it’s used with a specific Baxter code book. A ball chain keeps the set together.
