This is a full set of eight concentric WS2812B addressable LED rings with a single central LED. Together there are a total of 241 WS2812B 5050 LEDs. The circuit boards are held together by so called mouse-bites, allowing them to be carefully snapped apart if desired. To use the rings as a single unit, the output from one ring must be connected to the input of the neighbouring ring.

Pre-built controllers such as the SP105E, SP106E, SP107E and SP501E, among many others, are compatible (please send a message if you are unsure about your preferred controller). Alternatively, you can build your own controller using a suitable computer or microcontroller such as the Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Teensy or ESP8266 (among many others). Adafruit also stipulate the use of a 1000 uF capacitor across the power supply and a single 300-500 ohm resistor on the data pin. The data signal must be 5 V and if your microcontroller outputs 3.3 V then you will also need a logic level shifter. These LEDs are the B variant of WS2812 so they have reverse-polarity protection.

Each colour on each LED draws up to 20 mA at maximum brightness. If all 241 LEDs were set to maximum brightness, the total power draw could reach 15 A. Ensure that the power supply and wiring can accomodate this or limit the maximum brightness in software/via the controller.

They require 4-7 V (5 V seems an obvious choice) to run.

Orders will be dispatched within one business day, using recycled packaging wherever viable.

By default, all orders are dispatched by Royal Mail Second Class/RM48. If your order is needed urgently, you are encouraged to select an upgraded postage option, such as First Class/RM24 or Royal Mail Special Delivery, during checkout.
