What is Heat Shrink Tubing

Heat shrink tubing conforms to the shape and size of wires, connectors, open coils, and other electrically conductive components to insulate them and provide safety
for the user as well as abrasion resistance and environmental protection from water and corrosion. It also offers protection from dust, solvents, and other foreign materials.
Heat shrink tubing shrinks to conform to the size and shape of the underlying material when heated.

Double wall shrink tubing is best when corrosion protection and watertight sealing is required. The adhesive liner within the tubing provides a moisture resistant protective
barrier that allows for a much better seal to stop intrusion of foreign substances.

What is the heat shrink ratio?

Heat shrink ratios give you the size of the original heat shrink tubing in relation to its final size. Our product has a ratio of 4:1 this means the heat shrink tubing
reverts to a size that is a quarter of its current diameter.

How do I choose a heat shrink tubing size?

The first step is to make some measurements. Use a caliper or a ruler to measure the diameters of the smallest and largest parts you will be covering with the tubing.
You should choose a size larger enough to slide over the largest part you need to cover. Be sure not to forget your smallest measurement! Check to make sure that the heat
shrinkable tubing has a high enough shrink ratio to get a snug fit on the smallest part you wish to cover.
