Here is a copy of the STAR TREK fanzine ATTUCLAC. It is in very good
to excellent condition, showing a little wear around the edges, but the lower left corner of the cover and first few pages are damage from another staple catching on the bottom edge, the cover getting the worst of it, losing a piece. It runs 90 pages and was first printed in April 1987. This is actually a new copy of the U.S. reprint of a Scottish fanzine from dealer stock that we used to take to conventions. Stories in this issue include: This is a single story by David Gomm. From Enterprise Originals #9: This story is up to the author's usual high standard and is in two parts
- 'Attuclac' and 'Through a Glass, Lightly.' In part 1, Spock plays the
role of Sherlock Holmes,
with Kirk alongside as the faithful Watson. It is lighthearted, but
the explanation is quite believable. Part 2 is a sequel, but stands well
on its own. The Enterprise is involved in a dangerous rescue mission in
which it has to join forces with a Klingon ship. The crews experience
adventure and treachery, and have plenty of opportunity to use their
ingenuity. The story is well written, with some good characterizations,
but I do feel that there are too many sub-plots which make the theme
unnecessarily complicated. It is guaranteed a gripping read, however,
with humor relieving the heavy threat to two universes. Plus art. |
