Primitive style naive hand painting by an artist painting of a Lighthouse and Schooner Ship on this solid wood WALL HOLDER for tea or hand towels, I believe. There are two wood supports that stick out and I think you put a dowel on those so you can hang a tea towel (no dowel included.) The holder measures 14" wide by 5 3/4" tall. The depth is about 3 1/4" from back to front of those wood dowel holders that stick out in front.    . 

No idea as to age of this piece, but back has two round holes drilled into it, with plastic holder inserts put in  so you can hang on the wall. The painting is beautiful! Great color, no breaks or cracks. American flag waving on a pole in front of lighthouse. ALL WOOD. Crackle surface on back and wood holder parts for dowel. DOWELL NOT INCLUDED!. 

You can pick up a dowel of your choice at a crafts shop or hardware store to set on those two supports. But you could also probably hang robes or light sweater from the two supports too, or lightweight handbags.
