Here we have the Vanity, or properly called "All Is Vanity", the famous victorian era optical illusion created by an 18 year old Charles Allen Gilbert in 1892. Ours has been created from a high quality original, with details not often found with reprints. If you'll notice, the skull's forehead has several vertical artifacts which look like eraser smudges. Most of the time they are airbrushed out, but they were actually intentionally drawn by the artist to indicate the reflection of a chandelier in the background. This is often considered one of the greatest optical illusions of all time, first appearing in Life Magazine in 1902. Perfect for framing! Our posters are shipped in sturdy mailing tubes, fully insured!
This is our very popular sepia version of this famous work. We also carry this in several other colors, including the classic black & white, which you can find by clicking here.
