The BA83 is a 15” TFT touchscreen designed specifically for applications at the point of sale. The BA83 embodies rugged technology in an appealing look. The screen is the central point for input at state-of-the-art POS systems that make use of touchscreen technology. Touchbased applications have become increasingly established at the POS since they ensure quick familiarization by operators and usually dispense with the need for a keyboard and mouse.

The BA83 can be run on Wincor Nixdorf BEETLE systems, other vendors’ POS systems and even on PCs. A separate power supply unit for operating the screen is not necessary if it is run on a BEETLE POS system.

It is supplied with power directly from the BEETLE via the powered USB line that is also used for sending all data except the video signal, which is transmitted either by DVI or VGA. If the BA83 is to be run on a POS system that does not have a powered USB, an external power supply unit, which is included, is used. The data is then transferred separately via a standard USB connection.
