With a registration impressed bottom stamp of November 22, 1856, this pitcher or jug with vivid red, green and gold is a handsome piece.  It is in the SCROLL pattern by English potter, Edward Walley, who was in business from 1845-1865, so the piece was made between 1856-65.  The impressed stamp also indicates that the pitcher is in the Niagara shape.  It measures 9 inches from top of handle to base, 8 1/2 inches across from spout to handle, and 8 inches from base to spout.  It was probably used for water or lemonade. Made of ironstone.   It is in excellent condition with no flaws.   Has great holiday time colors for display or use.  Domestic shipping includes insurance.
