As Simple Audio Roomplayer+ owners know, support for their Roomplayers has been disbanded.

The original software of Simple Audio is basically rendered useless. Since the manufacturer has abandoned the product, apps can not be downloaded anymore, not for iOS, not for desktop. Especially for iOS this is a problem since the app can no longer be installed on new devices. On top of that, cover art is gone too.

This offer is for a software upgrade for the Roomplayer+, the Roomplayer+ is not included.

The Upgrade

The Simple Audio Reloaded+ upgrade* adds a series of functions and applications on top of the original Simple Audio Roomplayer+ software. This includes but is not limited to Squeezebox (including server), Airplay, DLNA and Roon, see complete list below. In addition, it adds a configuration interface to set it all up to your liking.

For these applications, a series of apps exists through which you can control your upgraded Roomplayer, such as Kazoo, Squeezer (Android only), iPeng (paid app, iOS only), Airplay (native iOS/MacOS)

Simple Audio Reloaded+ can play music stored from your network but also files stored on a USB drive attached to the player**. Music services are supported via Squeezebox. At the moment that includes among others Deezer and Tidal.

Simple Audio Reloaded does not erase your software. It simply adds functionality. You could install the package and decide to keep running the original software

Installation

You can easily upgrade your Roomplayer+ yourself. An installer is available for Windows and Apple MacOS so you can easily upgrade your device yourself (see second image attached to this ad). This installer application can automatically detect your Roomplayer and with a few clicks start the installation. Usually the upgrade is finished in 10 to 20 minutes.

At the end of the installation you get a hyperlink to a webpage through which you can configure your upgraded Roomplayer+, for example, connect to shared folders and setup Squeezebox.

Upgrade License

An upgrade licence for Roomplayer+ devices costs €89 per device. After payment your device will be authorized and I will provide you with a download link to the Simple Audio Reloaded installer so you can continue with the upgrade.

To authorize your device, you will need to provide the serial number or MAC address of your device. You can find the serial number on the bottom of your Roomplayer.

*) For the older generation Simple Audio Roomplayer I/II there is also an upgrade available at a discount, Simple Audio Reloaded Lite. Please ask for the details via eBay.
**) Using the USB option on your Roomplayer+ requires a recent firmware on your device. If this is not the case, a manual is available (at no charge) on how to update the firmware on your device. Just ask the question via eBay (please provide whether you're using Windows/MacOS/Linux to perform the firmware update).
