The Gold Label certifies that the signature is a genuine and authentic autograph. These signatures are beautifully clear, well-placed and artistic. (Famed comic book artist Joe Sinnott has been called the #1 comic book inker of all time in a list by Atlas Comics.)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird about 1984 and the first TMNT comic was published by Mirage Studios as a tongue-in-cheek parody of certain Marvel comics at the time. To date, the vastly popular Turtles have become iconic, having spun off many other productions, including 6 manga series, multiple TV series, a miniseries, and a full-length live-action feature film in 2014.
In April 2011, IDW Publishing acquired rights to the TMNTs. The first issue of the new series was released on August 24, 2011.
While the Turtles' mass popularity may have crested in the late 1980's and early 1990's, the robust fan base, and cultural relevance of these characters ensures they will have a very long future in comics and memorabilia.
This beautiful book is a wonderful chance for an investment that should go up in value every year, accruing impressive value over a lifetime,
For your general information, here is the way to get a GOLD LABEL SIGNATURE SERIES Signed Graded book on your own:
1. Go to a ComiCon and pay the entrance fee.
2. Stand in a long line where someone is signing books.
3. Buy the book and hope the one you got is good, and top-shelf quality.
4. Present it to be signed, pay the artist to sign it in the presence of the CGC representative.
5. You pay the CGC representative to take your signed book back to Florida and get it graded, certified and slabbed. The CGC official then takes possession of your signed book, puts it into a lock-box, and sends it to the company to be graded.
6. Then hold your breath, cross your fingers ... and wait, hoping it comes back with a high grade 9.8 with white pages! Only 20% of the brand new just-out-of-the-box books may get that high a grade.
