Knock Sensor x2
Front + Rear Engine Knock Sensors
3.0L I6 7M-GTE Turbo
🔵 DESCRIPTION
Set of 2 knock sensors designed for the Toyota 7M-GTE turbocharged engine. The engine uses two sensors positioned at the front and rear areas of the left side of the cylinder block to detect abnormal combustion vibration.
🔵 FUNCTIONS
• Detects engine knocking and abnormal combustion vibration
• Sends knock signals to the engine control system
• Allows ignition timing to be adjusted when knock is detected
• Helps protect the engine during boost and load conditions
• Two-sensor system monitors front and rear portions of the engine block
🔵 COMMON ERROR CODES
• Code 52 — No. 1 / Front Knock Sensor signal or circuit fault
• Code 53 — Knock-control function / ECU fault
• Code 55 — No. 2 / Rear Knock Sensor signal or circuit fault
Toyota service information identifies Codes 52, 53 and 55 with the two-sensor knock-control system; Code 53 specifically points to the control computer rather than the sensor itself. Car Manuals Online
🔵 COMMON SYMPTOMS
• Check Engine light
• Reduced engine performance
• Loss of power under acceleration or boost
• Retarded ignition timing
• Poor throttle response
• Increased fuel consumption
• Knock-sensor diagnostic code stored
🔵 BENEFITS
• Helps restore proper knock detection
• Supports correct ignition-timing control
• Helps maintain turbo-engine performance
• Replaces both front and rear sensors together
• Helps prevent incorrect timing caused by a failed knock-sensor signal
🔵 FITMENT

🔵 PACKAGE INCLUDES
• Knock Sensor x2
🔵 IMPORTANT NOTES
• This 7M-GTE turbo application uses 2 knock sensors
• Replace the front and rear sensors as required
• Inspect knock-sensor wiring and connectors when a related diagnostic code is present
• A circuit or wiring problem can produce a knock-sensor code even when the sensor itself is functional
• Professional installation is recommended
