Each set consists of four parts (two caps, one socket, and one stud).  For example, you will receive 20 caps, 10 sockets, and 10 studs if you choose 10 sets.

What Size Snaps Do You Need?

The size that is right for you will depend on your project, the fabric you are going to use, how many layers you need to go through, and your preference.  The information below are general guidelines.

1)  Size 20 are our most common size and can be used for most general projects like baby diapers and clothing.   These are the most popular size of plastic snaps, have the largest variety of color choices, have a good strong hold, and are a good starter size for most projects.

2)  Size 16 are most commonly used for baby and toddler clothing, pacifier ribbon clips, mama pads, and multiple layers of ribbon.

The smaller the size of snaps usually means the shorter the prong and the thinner the fabric they can be used in.  We do carry longer pronged Size 16 (in White and Black) and Size 20 (in 21 colors) for thicker fabric projects.

You will need plastic snap pliers to apply these snaps. Metal snap pliers will not work.

⚫ How to Install a Complete KAM Snap Set ⚫

⚫ Understand the Parts - Each snap set includes four pieces:
❤️ 2 caps – tack-shaped with a pointed prong
❤️ 1 socket – the female piece with a smooth, raised inner ring
❤️ 1 stud – the male piece with a narrower raised circle that clicks into the socket

⚫ Prepare Your Tools
▶ Use the black die that securely fits the rounded cap shape.

⚫ Mark and Pierce the Fabric
▶ Use an awl to pierce the fabric where you want to place the snap. This makes the snap easier to apply and helps ensure your snap pieces will align properly.

⚫ Install the Stud Side
▶Insert one cap through the hole from the right side of the fabric.
▶Place the stud over the prong on the underside of the fabric, so the fabric is sandwiched between the cap and the stud.
▶Align the cup of the black die with the rounded side of the cap, and position the top rod of the pliers over the prong.
▶Squeeze the pliers firmly to flatten the prong. This compression forms a “mushroom” shape inside the stud, securing the two pieces together.

⚫ Install the Socket Side
▶Repeat the same process using the second cap and the socket.
▶Insert the cap through the opposite piece of fabric.
▶Place the socket over the prong, making sure the indented side faces away from the pin.
▶Align the die and rod as before, then squeeze the pliers to set the socket.

⚫ You're Done!
▶Snap the two sides together—your KAM snap set is now fully installed!
