The FP-MPA2 is a compact dual-channel phantom power adapter designed to supply selectable phantom voltages to powered microphones. The unit features a three-position switch per channel to select 12 Vdc, 24 Vdc or 48 Vdc phantom. For microphones that require a different buildout resistance when operating at 24 Vdc, a secondary switch selects normal or low-current buildout values. Phantom is applied only to the input XLR and is blocked from the loop-through output to maintain downstream compatibility.

Phantom voltages are generated via a low-noise dc-dc converter and regulated for stable operation. Each phantom output includes short-circuit protection to prevent damage in fault conditions. Voltage and buildout selection conform to IEC 61938: 2013 practices regarding phantom supply characteristics.

The FP-MPA2 uses standard XLR connectors for direct integration with industry microphone cabling and preamps. The input female XLR receives the microphone while the male XLR provides signal loop-through without phantom. Power is supplied as 24 Vdc at 120 mA ground-referenced, enabling straightforward system wiring in rack and distributed installations.

This adapter is appropriate for broadcast, recording, and installed audio systems where controlled phantom sourcing is required. It supports common pro microphones that operate at 12 Vdc, 24 Vdc or 48 Vdc and provides selectable buildout options for 24 V microphones that need higher impedance. Its small footprint allows mounting in tight spaces or on rack rails using RDL accessories.

The FP-MPA2 is housed in an all-metal low-profile enclosure for durability and low-noise performance. Mounting density is improved by the offset input/output jack placement, and multiple units can be rack-mounted or affixed to rack rails.
