Clarification Notice: This is an aftermarket watch accessory. This is not manufactured by Casio, nor are any Casio trademarks used on this product nor are any other Casio materials used to make it. This decal does NOT use the same fonts or colors as Casio. It is a Decal Accessory only to be placed on your real Casio Watch that you own, in which said watch owned by you is covered by Casio Trademarks. Any reference to Casio here is referring to your own Casio watch and model so that you know which model this will work for. Casio does not make any watch Keypad Decals for these antiques in which no parts are available for them today, nor did Casio ever sell this item as a separate part to purchase. Instead you had to buy a Casio Watch new case to get a new keypad. These Decal Accessories only stick over the original Casio Keypads. They do not replace any Casio Keypads because no electric switches are contained in these decals.
Please do NOT buy until you view all the photos and read the Instructions below that point out that you trim these to fit yourself. Someone purchased without viewing all the photos and reading the instructions, then complained after they installed them on their watch. Be informed, and know what you are getting before buying this item. Thank You.
Note about the updated image: This model was the first decals created, and
originally had gold numbers, but after printing made them darker than should be and did
not contrast with dark background well.
I have turned those numbers yellow, so now after printed, they do appear closer
to gold coloring. Secondly, the alphabet
rows were too small to see clearly after printing, so those characters were
made a bit larger and bolder so now more visible after printing. Keep in mind Updated Source Image above is in Photoshop, but after printing, shading is a bit darker as with the yellow numbers. See Scan of actual printed decal for what this now looks like. Other before and after photo above is the earlier version, not the update version. This upgrade was long overdue since my other model decals created later looked better after printing than these earlier ones. Enough said. About image above, while says actual item being shipped, the whole sheet of decals was scanned, and since all decals on sheet are identical, your decal came from that same scanned sheet, but is not necessarily the same rectangle cropped from the above photo. That means your decal could be from another decal cut from the same sheet which may be a different rectangle image from same scanned sheet, but a different rectangle than cropped for the above image which previously included your decal before being cropped to a single decal on that sheet. Just wanted to clarify the text that says actual image being shipped, meaning that scanned sheet included the actual image being shipped. That image was so you can see what it looked like after printing which varied slightly from the source image which also varied slightly after the Lamination of the image. Since all are identical, your image is assumed to be identical to image posted above, but your image was cut from the same sheet scanned and cropped to display a single decal. The Clear Lamination does slightly alter appearance of above scanned image, meaning, the black background does get just a shade grayer with other colors after viewed through the clear protective lamination, but not very much. That is why it says After Printing, but Before Lamination. Also, the before and after images above, has the older version of this decal before updating the image to make it more readable, so not same version as this revised image in first photo. That after image was my old Casio DBC-610 after installing that new decal, which watch sold immediately here on eBay.
If your old Casio DBC Databank watch keypad membrane is cracked, missing, or unreadable, then this newly remanufactured keypad decal may bring new life to your old Casio DBC Watch.
Lets face it, if you can't read the keypad on one of these watches, you have lost about 90% of its functionality, or less depending on what is left to actually see. You have to be able to read the keypad in order to program this watch!
You cannot find replacement keypad membranes for purchase for these vintage watches, since these watches and their parts are no longer being produced and no longer available for sale. These are fresh reprints of the keypad image (consisting of lettering, symbols and numbers).
This decal is a fresh 600 dpi resolution accessory image to place over you original keypad image, and is printed on a Permanent-Self-Adhesive Waterproof Vinyl, and covered with a clear laminate over the ink to prevent the lettering and numbers from wearing off as quickly as the original did, because the originals had no clear laminate to protect the printing like these do.
No watch disassembly required, only a good cleaning and application of replacement keypad image decal over the old keypad.
Photos in this listing include:
Those later aforementioned photos illustrate the need for one of these New Vinyl Keypad Image Decal Overlays to restore the visual functionality of your watch with previously unreadable key pads.
Instructions:
First you need to properly clean your old keypad preferably with something that will not leave a residue like Alcohol, and allowed to dry completely before applying the new decal. Surface must be very clean and completely dry! Not slippery or slimy after cleaning!
If you have a keypad membrane that is only cracked but still mostly intact, you should be able to apply this decal directly over the old decal.
If your old decal is missing, just make sure the old rubber membrane under it is clean and completely dry so that the new decal is able to stick to it.
About photos of this decal on eBay. The images show an external dark border around the white line border. The dark is what gets trimmed off so that only the white line border should be left. Think of it as a cutting line to trim to fit.
Before placing decal in position, a dry fit may be necessary to make any minor trimming to insure a perfect fit. Suggestion is to use fingernail clipper if corners need trimmed, most likely the lower 2 corners, or you may use scissors for any straight edges.
After insuring a good fit, you next need to peal the protective back off the decal and use a pair of tweezers to carefully center and apply the decal in the correct location.
After placing the new decal in the correct position, apply light pressure in all points on the surface to insure it properly sticks.
For best adhesion it is important that the target surface be clean and that the decal, after being applied, be afforded 24 hours for the adhesive to fully cure and set. In other words, do not touch for at least 24 hours for the adhesive to properly set.
What is included with this order:
Disclaimer:
Just so you understand, this listing above showed the instructions that are included with the order, which states the Buyer will be trimming the border of these decals yourself to insure fit. There is an outline to show you where to cut them. It is all in the instructions. Just wanted the Buyer to be aware they are not pre-trimmed to the exact size which is what the Buyer will do after you get them.
These decals when trimmed to the boarder are the exact size for a Casio DBC 610, Frame [676] and the image matches that model. This may also fit other models like the DBC 610A or similar but they are not guaranteed here. If you can confirm this is the same size and lettering as your other model, you may purchase at your own risk, but there is a pretty good chance it will fit, just no guarantee from me.
These remanufactured decals are printed in multiple on a single 8.5" x 11" sheet of Contouring Permanent-Self-Adhesive Waterproof Vinyl using an Epson Workforce 545 Printer. Your decal will be cut from one of those decals on that sheet. Image quality might very slightly from decal to decal depending on how well the printer distributes its ink, but all do come from the same source image which are all identical.
One image shown above is an actual scan of one of the decals you would receive, taken from the middle of the decals printed page (without the overprinted text used here only) so that you can see the quality of what you will actually receive.
Because that image above is a scanned copy of the printed decal, it is not as good as the actual decal itself because that photo looses some of its source printing resolution, however it is fairly representative the one you can expect to receive.
The images show an external dark border around the white line border. The dark is what gets trimmed off so that only the white line border should be left. Think of it as a cutting line to trim to fit.
If you are missing the original keypad image but still have the underlying keypad, you at least need the complete underlying keypads intact wherein it is flat enough for this decal to stick to. If parts of the underlying keypad are missing pieces so that this decal would not have even contact over the entire keypad, then I would not advise one of these decals, if the underlying keypad is too damaged for it to stick , otherwise you could end up poking holes in the decal while using it. In other words, judge for yourself it there is enough underlying keypad to work with before using one of these decals. The risk is up to you under such circumstances.
Returns Conditions:
In order to be eligible for return refund, the item must be returned in same condition as received so it may be resold. If you remove the adhesive backing and the adhesive had touched anything that would stick to it, that action affects the adhesive and prevents the item from being resold, ergo, if it is used, you cannot return the decal for a refund. If you are unhappy with the decal, return it before cutting it and before removing the adhesive backing, if you want your refund without being contested. Otherwise, I will contest the return and argue you have damaged the item before returning and item is no longer resalable. Not trying to be mean, just fair and hope you understand returns are for unused items in same condition as you received it.
Shipping Notes:
These decals will be attached to the instruction sheet and mailed in an 9" x 7" Cardboard Mailer Envelope.
For U.S. domestic locations this will be shipped by the USPS Ground Advantage with a USPS Tracking Number to insure delivery.
I am sorry, but I was forced to suspend International Shipping, due to a recent act of fraud by another member here who edited an image of the decal he received to fade the image, after he already previously sent good photos of what he received first alleging they did not fit because he failed to read the listing that specifically says that these were to be trimmed to fit by the buyer, then the same member subsequently edited a later photo by severely fading his later photo, because he changed his complaint as he was attempting to extort me to pay return shipping from another country by falsely alleging what he received was not as described. Such an act of fraud by that member is therefore causing me to terminate International Sales, because should someone else who did not first mistakenly provided a good photo of what they received, before later editing a subsequent image of what they received and then try to force me to refund international shipping, which I cannot afford, so now only local United States shipping will be allowed, which I can afford, if and when, the next act of such fraud, falsely alleging "Not As Described" occurs.
To International buyers, I regret that another member forced me to stop future sales to you. I am not a business, and living on a fixed income and cannot afford such fraud as was recently unsuccessfully attempted.
Should the U.S. Postal Service destroy or damage this item and you can provide proof if was destroyed by them before you received it, and it was not damaged by you, contact me and a replacement will be sent wherein such is clearly not your fault. I hate when that happens to me, and you should not have to happen to you, but if it does, I will work with you to resolve that problem.Other Models
Someone asked if this would work for the Casio DBC-61. After doing some research, it turns out the Casio DBC-61 keypad is the same keypad as the Casio DBC-610, because both the DBC-61 and DBC-610 use the same 676 frame, therefore, the sizes of both models are identical as well as their symbol and letter layouts. These will also work for DBC 62 even though the colors are different, the symbols and numbers arrangement are the same.
I do now have these available for the Casio DBC-600 & Casio CFX-40 & Casio CFX 400 under a separate eBay listing. Just search for those Casio models using eBay Search.
