This listing is for one 16" strand of LAPIS LAZULI small 4x6mm (average size, with some variation) rice shaped beads. These beads were cut in China from genuine Lapis Lazuli stone mined in Afghanistan. The stone is natural Lapis Lazuli stone, it is not a cheap synthetic or reconstituted "stone", with bright navy blue color some visible white calcite and a sprinkling of gold pyrite matrix - these beads are relatively inexpensive for natural Lapis stone because they are ordinary commercial grade beads, and the color the color has been "enhanced" by a glossy oil based polish. Unlike dyed stone, the polish is long lasting, the polish will not bleed when exposed to soap and water, the color does not rub off on your hands, it will not stain your favorite white silk shirt if you get caught out in the rain. However, you can clearly see white calcite beneath the glossy polish, and in time that polish will begin to wear off - and as it does, the bright blue color will slowly soften, the color intensity will likely fade, and the white calcite matrix in the stone will become more visible.  These are B-C grade strands, the cutting and finish work is adequate but not outstanding, please expect a few flaws in the cut and finish; priced accordingly.  There are 66-68 beads on each 16" strand, you are buying one of the strands shown.
