Original Vintage W.E. Hill & Sons Oak Violin Case, 4/4, Velvet lined,

Lovely old case full of faded Edwardian splendour!

The lining has aged, being faded and worn, but the exterior is in good condition, with a very good top.

This is because it must have spent it's life beneath a canvas outer cover, but there was a small price to pay

for this. The cover must have been quite snug, as the continual movement of the zip has worn a strip

on the surface around an inch down from the top. All part of it's story.

There is also a little of the lid 'skirting' missing around the back, which leaves a slight gap when shut, but 

I guarantee your violin won't slip out through it.

The handle is very strong and secure and the patent sliding brass Hill latch is fully working. 

It would suit a violin up to a length of 24", with a body length of up to 14.25".

The width across the rear bout is 8.5" and across the front bout 7".
