Lee & the Leopards
Come into My Palace b/w Trying to Make it
Promotional record released in 1963 on Laurie Records
Berry Gordy/Motown leased the masters of this single to Laurie Records in 1963--one year after these tracks were issued as a single on the Gordy label. Motown was in its infancy as a label and went to Laurie, which had a track record of taking region hits and bringing them to national attention.
This record was never issued as a standard release, suggesting that Laurie did not wish to pursue the lease arrangement further.
These two tracks are solid raw soul, full of energy.
Side A is VG+
Side B is VG with a scratch I can feel
The record has been cleaned with an ultrasonic record cleaner and comes in a plain white sleeve
