Unused and in great shape. The date on the back is 2/63 which puts him getting this patch right before the short life of the squadron came to an end, from 1961-1963. This is from the estate of Dan Nebrig, who had an extraordinary career as an aeronautical engineer with Hayes Aircraft, Chance Vought Aircraft, Martin Co. and ultimately the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) where he retired as the deputy director of Johnson Space Center in Houston. His NASA collection rivaled that of NASA and his museum quality collections included military medals, military and commercial pilot wings, military patches, Army DUI pins and military books.
