This Porter Cable RN175A coil roofing nailer was used to build around 10-12 sheds and then was put away in my garage.
The trigger doesn’t always actuate it - when it didn’t fire, I slipped a small screwdriver behind the trigger and manually depressed the rod and it fired. I tried it again and it didn’t fire, but when I pulled it several times rapidly it started working. The next time I tried it did the same thing…no activation, then after rapid pulls it worked.
Google ai suggests it is missing a small piece that links the safety mechanism (also says it can be bypassed with a little epoxy, but that would be at the buyer’s own discretion and risk). I could swear it was working normally when put away, so I’m not sure how a piece could end up missing.
I’m selling it as “for parts or repair” since it may work reasonably well, but it also may not fire at all as there is clearly something not quite right in the trigger mechanism.
I know that was a little long-winded, but I want the buyer to have a full understanding.
