RARE VINTAGE 1970s JAPANESE SEIKO M154-5009 DIGITAL LC WATCH — FULLY FUNCTIONAL
Up for sale is a brilliant piece of digital horology history: a genuine, late-1970s Seiko Quartz LC Digital Watch (Module M154-5009), proudly made in Japan. This model features Seiko's legendary, pioneering early liquid crystal display layout, including the full day-of-the-week block across the top grid.
CONDITION & FUNCTION:
- FULLY WORKING: A brand new premium silver-oxide battery has just been installed via the rear battery hatch. The digital display fires up crisply and cleanly.
- SCREEN: The LCD display has good contrast. No missing segments or dead digits.
- COSMETIC STATE: Lovely honest vintage condition. The stainless steel case and original integrated bracelet show surface scuffs and light age-related wear, as expected for a 45+ year old daily timepiece.
- BATTERY HATCH: The rear external battery hatch unscrews cleanly and holds a perfect tight seal.
TECHNICAL NOTE:
As is standard with the vintage Seiko M154 module firmware, the internal calendar loop was built to cap at the year 1999/2009. To display the correct day/date sequence for modern use, simply sync the internal settings to a matching calendar year cycle from the 1970s/1980s.
A stunning, ready-to-wear or investment piece for any vintage Seiko collector or Y2K/Retro enthusiast.
