Reddy Kilowatt Pin (NOS) and 1962 NSP "Electricity is Penny Cheap" Money Clip. The pin is in it's original unopened package and the NSP (Norther States Power) money clip is in excellent condition. From 1959 and into the early 1970's, electricity costs were extremely low , often around 2 cents per kilowatt hour. This made electric companies heavily promote high energy consumption, which made the NSP phrase, "Electricity is penny cheap", literally true for running household appliances.
NSP used cartoons featuring Homer & Roy drive home that message.
The slogan disappeared with the onset of the 1970's energy crisis.
Look closely at the pictures and ask questions if unsure about anything.
