We are happy to offer for your consideration a lovely light weight 100% linen sheet from France. This top sheet is made out of a crisp fine Lehnen. It has a border of 2 inch crocheted lace on the top edge. It measures 60 inches wide by 100 inches long. There are no holes or repairs in the sheet.

It is lightweight, cool and crisp with only a mild amount of slubs in it. It is not a rough or rustic linen, but I’m much more fine linen. It is made of one solid piece of fabric and would be wonderful for a project. It has a slight grain to the weave, but it is not very nubby or slubbie.

This fabric is perfect for upholstery or curtains and grapes. It would also work very well as a tablecloth.

It has two red embroidered eye letters on it. One was the original small cross stitch eye that very typical of late 18 and early 1900 linen sheets in France. Later on when the lace was added a larger script I was embroidered on. It’s lovely to see a sheet in such good shape. That also has a wonderful history to it.

There are no thin spot or wear spots on this. There may be some slight patches of discoloration which will come out with an additional wash. We have washed it and hung it out to dry over our rosemary and lavender bushes.

It is country and primitive and very very French. They would have used a sheet like this as a top sheet.

It does not look to have been used very much even though it is an antique.
