Original 1909 Wells Fargo & Company Express money receipt, printed in red ink and issued through the Kansas City, Missouri office. Front shows the formal “Money Receipt” form with handwritten transaction details and conditions of carriage; the reverse features an illustrated advertising panel describing Wells Fargo’s nationwide express services by trains, stages, and steamers. During this era Wells Fargo operated as one of America’s largest express and financial carriers, handling shipments, parcels, and money orders across thousands of miles before modern parcel and banking systems. Light folds from original filing, age toning, and normal handling wear, but graphics remain bold and very displayable. A strong piece of Western/transportation and financial history ephemera.
