Gay Ann Rogers, Small Ruskin Sampler 1, class directions, undated

As always Gay Ann Rogers designs are elegant and extremely well documented.
Narrow band sampler with various embroidery stitches, pulled thread stitches, and Ruskin lace motifs in the middle and bottom (cut, withdrawn, and weaving) .There's a complete upper case alphabet.
NOTE: If you have never done Ruskin lace (see middle and bottom band), this pattern will walk you through the process with detailed step-by-step instructions and diagrams.

Stitches include cross stitch and variations, upright cross stitch, Scotch stitch, Rhodes stitch, plaited stitch, padded gobelin stitch, buttonhole stitch, and padded buttonhole stitch.
Pulled stitches include 4-sided stitch.
Drawn stitches include 2 Ruskin lace motifs with horizontal and vertical cutting and withdrawing threads, needleweaving, laying of foundation threads, buttonhole and reverse buttonhole crescents, half-circles and quarter-circles, spider web variation.

Material list calls for DMC and Anchor pearl cotton #8 and #12, Kreinik Braid #8, DMC and Anchor floss, and canvas with stretcher bars (6"w x 14"h).
