Head Raptor Race Ski Boot Spineflex Buckles
Replacement Spineflex buckles for Head Raptor race ski boots. These buckles fit using a double screw attachment via the provided screw rivets.
Please note that the buckles supplied may differ in colour and style to the ones pictured. We have limited styles and cannot guarantee a match. You can specify a preference in the "notes" box at checkout and we will do our best to match yours as closely as possible. Please do not call to request specific colours or styles as we only stock one variation to simplify the process.
How to identify the correct buckle
If you count the buckle closest to the toe of the boot as the "Toe Buckle" the next buckle up is the "Instep Buckle", next upwards is the "Lower Cuff Buckle" and the last one is the "Upper Cuff Buckle". Note that the angle of the buckle may change depending on whether it's on the left or right boot to improve aesthetics and ease of use, so you will need to select the correct side.
What we supply
The pack includes one buckle and a screw rivet attachment kit which comprises of two metric screws and two metric captive retaining nuts for the inside of the boot.
How to fit the buckle
The rivets holding the buckle are made of steel so remove using a steel drill with a diameter of around 6 to 8mm to gently drill off the heads of the rivets. Take care the drill doesn't slip and make a hole in the boot; be aware that the drill can grab the plate of the buckle and spin it, so keep your fingers out of the way. Push out the rest of the rivet through the shell to make way for the retaining nut. You will need to make the existing holes in the boot larger using a 5mm drill so the captive nuts will push into the holes in the shell. Then simply offer the new buckle up to the shell and screw together. Please note that on Nordica Speedmachine boots the rivets are quite tough and difficult to drill off; please ring us if you need further advice.
